It took an extra day and even an extra four ticks on the lap counter at the Oswego Speedway, but shortly after noon on Sunday, Northampton, PA’s Tony Hirschman took the checkered flag in the 60th Sunoco Race of Champions Modified 200.
It was Hirschman’s fourth career R.o.C. 200 win, second in the last three years (2008). The decorated modified veteran scored wins in 1997 and 1989 as well.

Coming from the 20th starting position, Bath, N.Y.’s Zane Zeiner took the lead away from Ontario, N.Y.’s Buck Catalano on his 15th trip around Oswego Speedway’s five-eighth’s mile oval en route to capturing the 100-lap Sunoco Race of Champions Sportsman Modified 100. Those are just a few of the comments heard after people took a ride in the Oswego Speedway 2-seat Supermodified during the 2010 season.
“We were going down the front straight at 130 miles an hour, I knew we were going to crash, I shut my eyes, then we were going down the back straight,” said one very satisfied race fan.
