Classic Weekend Practice Pics & Bits From Friday
Recap/Photos – Chris Porter
Dozens of crews and drivers participating in Oswego Speedway’s 2010 Classic Weekend took the opportunity to test and tune their machines Friday afternoon during an open practice session. Cars from Oswego’s regular non-winged big and small block supermodified divisions were joined by some of the winged International Super Modified Association (ISMA) and Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) teams.
For the most part, incidents were few and far between, with no more than a half-dozen spins on the day. However, Shawn Muldoon’s No. 1 supermodified clocked the third-turn wall (aftermath below) with tremendous force near the end of the practice session. Something appeared to have gone amiss mechanically, as the recently finished super had it locked up as it headed straight-on into the wall.
Below, are some random pictures taken throughout the afternoon.

Eddie Bellinger broke in a new motor on the No. 02. Eddie's son, Brandon, isn't expected to be in town until Saturday and will pilot the car.

If you look closely, you can see the left-front tire of the Bobby Haynes No. 44 hovering above the pavement as he hits the gas, coming out of turn No. 4

Here, Brian Sobus rounds the first and second turns for the first time ever in a supermodified. He'll be piloting the Ray Graham, Jr.-owned No. 92. Sobus was clocked in the 17.2's before the day ended.

After a nasty hit against the backstretch wall two weeks ago, Todd Stowell has the No. 89 back together again

Pat Lavery would like nothing more than to have the International Classic be the stage for his first feature win

After many months of prepping for a return, Muldoon faces many hours in short time if he's to compete on Sunday
